I looked at Expedia, Travelocity, HotWire and Priceline but ticket prices are $ 1600+. I always thought traveling to Europe in the winter was cheaper?

I was looking to go to Nice in early December, one way, because I don’t know when I’d be coming back. And I was either looking at flying to Nice or flying to Paris and taking the Euro-rail because I thought it might be a cheaper option, seeing as how there are probably more flights to Paris daily then to Nice. But apparently the price doesn’t change. I searched for a flight for a Tuesday because I think in the middle of the week tickets are cheaper?

Does anyone know of any sites that offer cheap ticket prices and any other tips to lower the fare?

For one-way international flights, consolidators are usually cheapest. You can try some at http://www.bookingbuddy.com — such as Cheaptickets, CheapO, via Mobissimo, etc. Other good ones not on Bookingbuddy: Flights.com, Airdeals.com, Economytravel.com, Justfares.com, Travelteam.com. (I’m assuming you need departure from somewhere US or Canada?).

Be aware that you can not legally enter on a one-way ticket without European passport, or proof of onward travel outside of Schengen within 90 days. If questioned for it at check in and/or arrival, you need to have it in-hand. A Ryanair or Easyjet flight to the UK or Switzerland, for example, or a seat reservation for your Eurail pass out of Schengen-land before 90 days, should suffice (since CH or UK are part of Schengen border agreement).

We are going on a cross country road trip, stopping in 2 hotels before getting to our destination. We will be traveling the last week of December and I would like to know how best to travel with my adult bearded dragon the easiest way possible, with no stress to him. I don’t want to lose him. It’s not an option to leave him unless we gave him a new home. How do I keep him warm throughout the car rides? It’s about 11 hours first day, 9 hours next day and 6 1/2 hours following day good weather permitting.

There is no possible way you are going to be able to do that with no stress to him.

It would be in his best interest to leave him at home with a friend or board him at a petstore. I’m sure there is some way you could find boarding for him.

Its going to likely be cold as balls and you’ll have to keep him warm by keeping the car heater up. There are outlet adapters you can put in the cigaratte lighter of a car that you could theoretically plug a heat lamp into, but I think that might not be very safe.

He’s going to be stressed out and not likely to eat; in all honesty he would probably be fine for a week left at your empy house with heat lights on a timer and a big meal before you go and some extra crickets in his cage

OK, so here is the deal.

I have to travel for work in mid January to FL, but am able to work in 2 weekends, with only taking a day of vacation!

So, I can basically take off after work on Friday, have the weekend, and take that Monday off for vacation. I need to be in Orlando for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thurdays. I am free from my work obligations by Friday afternoon.

Question is, what to do???

I would like to see Miami, and fly out of Miami on the last Sunday, to come home.

Thinking of flying in somewhere on Friday, and spending the weekend through Monday, and driving to Orlando by Tueday afternoon-ish. Working through Friday afternoon, then heading to Miami for the weekend.

Any tips or advice? Where to stay in Miami, or where to visit on my 1st weekend?

PLEASE HELP!! I want this to be a great little get a way from the Winter!

Well i would have to say just enjoy yourself while you can. Make the best of what you got and Miami is a great place to be and orlando you can just relax take some stress off your mine you know! well i say just have some fun and realx you know i live in florida its has its ups and downs but i love it here!=]

I’ve been spending this past year trying to get my life back on track. I had a rocky 2 and a 1/2 years. But for the past 6 months I’ve really been working on myself. I’ve changed alot. I kind of want to treat myself to a really special trip for some time in December by myself to end the year with a really big bang! I would have about 600 dollars to spend.
