The Bamboo Train is in Cambodia, north of Cambodia’s Capital of Phnom Penh.
The Bamboo Train Battambang are not really trains in the regular sense. They’re more like little single platforms of bamboo, enough to seat perhaps 6 folks, they move along the track powered by a little petrol engine.
The bamboo trains run on a single track, so the train stops and the guests have to jump off the train… onto the rocks beside the railway line while the Bamboo Train driver pulls apart the train and moves it well clear of the track, so that the other bamboo train might pass by.
When the other bamboo trains have passed, it’s the train operators duty, as in the near future the railway is supposed to be getting pulled up.
You can take a bus to Battambang from Cambodia’s capital and the Bamboo Railway line is about a half hour ride outdoors of town. You can get a taxi driver to take you out to the railway, where you will be required to pay out a little amount to ride the bamboo train.
A lot folks carry on travelling on from the bamboo trains to Siem Reap, in order to pay a visit to ancient Ankor Wat, the extraordinary travel location.
