Fall is almost over and winter is almost on us in full force, if you are planning on traveling anywhere for beach holidays this is a good time to travel down-under to Oz. Now is the time to enjoy the warm sunny weather and the best beaches in the world in Australia.

Australia is one of the biggest islands in the world as well as a continent so there are no shortages of beaches however it is not a time for Travelling Everywhere in Australia. This continent stretches from the tropics in the north down to the Antarctic waters of the Southern Ocean to the south. Summer in Australia (winter in the Northern Hemisphere) is not the time to go to the tropical beaches of the north but it is the best time for holidaying at the beautiful surf beaches surrounding the southern half of the country.

Australia is about 3,000 km from east to west and 2,000 km from north to south so it has literally thousands and thousands of kilometers of pristine white sand beaches which are undoubtedly amongst the best in the world. Their scope and variety ranges from beaches stretching for many kilometers in an isolated untouched area to famous beaches near the cities. Isolated beaches are accessible by a rental car or hire camper vans. These are the ideal places to camp and defrost from the hustle and bustle while winding down in the beauty of nature.

There are famous beaches with luxurious hotels or holiday rental beach houses near all the major capital cities Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. The most famous would be Bondi Beach near down town Sydney and Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast just south of Brisbane. These have some of the best surf beaches in the world supervised by the famous Ozzie surf lifesavers and protected by offshore nets to keep any unwanted visitors away.

The Australian winter (summer in the northern hemisphere) is the best time to visit the tropical north as in winter it is not to hot and never too cold. This northern half of Australia has beautiful tropical beaches and islands where you can go snorkeling and explore untold coral reefs.

Australia is a modern developed country with a world class infrastructure that will give you reliable and safe beach holidays. Everybody speaks English with a bit of an Australian twang which can be funny to listen to and also to learn. The country has become a multicultural society so many other languages are spoken by recent arrivals such as Chinese, Italian and Indonesian. This multiculturalism is reflected in the food and you can get a dish from anywhere in the world Turkish, Thai, fish and chips, hamburgers, pizza, Chinese you name it its there for you to enjoy.

So dont just go Travelling Everywhere, go where the climate is right and the beaches are the best for your beach holidays. Australia will give you a safe reliable holiday where you can be free from the troubles of the world. Australia has something for everyone from the city slicker to the outback adventurer.

Question by sky_kats: What are the best sites to track great transatlantic flight deals from USA to UK?
My friends and I are planning to visit Edinburgh in September. Right now we are about to book our lodging and wait to buy airfare until later (when its hopefully cheaper). I am a member of several email lists that give notification of travel deals but they are mainly US based carriers.

I need sites that have low cost tickets from the US, preferrably CLT airport, to EDI. I don’t mind flying to another airport in the UK, if the combined transportation costs are cheaper than a connecting flight to EDI (example, flying into Glasgow or London and taking a cheaper flight or public transport to Edinburgh).

Lastly, with charges and fees, right now flights are about $ 1000 USD or 500£. We are looking for lower if possible. In January, British Air was offering $ 250 flights each way and something like that would be great.
Thanks in advance!

You probably won’t find $ 250 each way on CLT-EDI in September. Winter transatlantic airfares are cheapest; summer most expensive. This should help: http://www.farecompare.com/fare-search/year.html?destination=EDI&s=r&t=r&departure=CLT&type=homepage2 .. it rates airfares so you know what’s historically a good fare on a route, so you can be ready to purchase when the price drops at or near that level again. http://www.bookingbuddy.com is also good.

You will get cheaper rates if you book during the low season and January falls within the low season. The high season is June – September. Also if you are on budget you should get smaller travel agents – they will give you good rates. I am a tour guide / consultant based in Nairobi. I deal with budget safaris around east africa. Question by riversrightfoot: What to expect when traveling to North Carolina in late December/January?
So I’m from Texas and we don’t really get much action as far as snow goes – we have some ice/sleet to deal with but rarely does the snow actually stick to the ground. I was wondering what to expect if I take a road trip to North Carolina leaving in late December and returning early January. We’d be traveling through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and SC. It’d be great to know if I’d probably encounter inclement weather on my way there or back. Would I need snow chains on my tires? Thanks.

Best answer:

Answer by wndrlys
You may encounter some inclement weather, but you definitely do not need snow chains on your tires. If you do encounter any really bad weather, as someone who is not accustomed to driving in it, you should pull over and wait it out.

There is a trip planning feature on weather.com that can probably give you pretty sound advice. Some roadmapping sites might also have weather alerts built in.

I am from Virginia, and I drove an Elantra with a u-haul behind it from Virginia to Texas a few years ago.

Question by mario: How can I find a travel agent in Connecticut who is an expert on Australia?
I live in West Hartford and am looking for a travel agent who really knows Australia. I am planning on a honeymoon there for December-January and we want to know our options and find the best deals.

Answer by <3Mason
you’d probably be best to give flight centre a call or go onto their site www.flightcentre.com.au
they organize travel, accommodation and activities for you. Australia is HUGE! so different companies will specialize in different areas.

my suggestion is to visit places like: (Noosa, Sunshine Coast) If you have a bit of money to spend
(Kakadu, Northern Territory) if you like the outdoors
(Oprah House, Sydney) if your into the city and landmarks.
for a Honeymoon, your better off sticking to coastal areas…. try not to go too far inland, you dont want to kill your partner in the Aussie Outback

Vacations in England are more popular in summer for good reason: from November to March, the days are shorter and darker and the weather is cold and rainy, even snowy at times. Campsites, caravan parks and family attractions may be closed. But most people don’t go to England for the weather, they go to see history, theatre, arts and culture, so don’t write off the off-season. By traveling to England outside the school summer holidays, you’ll avoid the crowds, save a fortune on your flights and get much better deals on hotel accommodation.

Beat the Crowds with Off-Season Deals

First of all, you’ll find that flights and hotel trooms in the off-season are not only easier to book at times and dates to suit you but also much much cheaper.  This is because most British and European families take their vacations when the schools close down in summer, which means hotels and flights in summer are often fully booked and much more expensive. By traveling even a couple of weeks outside the school summer vacations, you can get much better value for money. Many tourist attractions, camping and caravan sites in sunnier areas, such as holiday parks in Devon, may close for a few months over winter but they do stay open at reduced prices for several months on either side of the school holidays, offering cheap holidays in Devon with weather that is still quite pleasant.

Meanwhile, visiting London in the off-season is not only much cheaper and easier to book, but also more pleasant: you can spend much of your time indoors anyway visiting the world famous art galleries, historic attractions and castles, and the West End theatre, while avoiding the crowds of tourists that flock to London in the summer.

What to Pack for your Trip to England

Bear in mind that any clothes you bring could get wet, so it’s best to bring fabrics that dry quickly. Pack lots of thin layers, sensible shoes, a sweater, extra socks, a hat and gloves if you’re going in winter, and a windproof raincoat. If your sweater is too bulky, try packing it in an airtight bag that reduces its size when you squash the air out of it. Don’t worry about space to bring it back again, as you’ll probably wear it for your return flight. Bring a small day rucksack or shoulder bag to carry anything you’ll need for a day out on foot, such as maps and guidebooks, hairbrush, phone and your raincoat. The more you prepare, the less you’ll need to buy when you’re there (but leave room for souvenirs!)

Be Prepared, but Adaptable

Many museums and attractions have free or reduced price days and times, which you can find out and plan for ahead of time. But if you have good weather, make the most of it: it may be better value to see something like historic castle ruins that can only be truly appreciated on a sunny day. If you have a day of non-stop rain, consider museums, the theater, cafes and art galleries. There is always more to see in England, and you may find that when you look back the highlights of your England vacation will be those unplanned moments that surprise and delight you.

Question by Dianaramaa: When is the best time to book hotels for New York during Christmas time?
I’m trying to find good deals for New York (Midtown Manhattan Hotels) for the first week of December and I was wondering when the best time to buy was? I know rates start to sky rocket but do certain hotels have deals or anything? All in all should I just book months ahead or wait about a month or two before for deals or such and book then?

Best answer:

Answer by Jamerican Steve
Book it now to guarantee a vacancy in the hotel you want near the holiday tree.
Hotels have seasonal rates so it will be more expensive the closer it gets.
By checking earlier, you can see which hotels has the best rate and amenities.

Only do this if you are guaranteed to come to NY to avoid cancellation fees.

Hotels packages will have a good deal but be sure to read the fine print.
Often you will have to use a certain airline, hotel rewards or credit card.

Good luck.
